How to Install Framing Strips on Indoor Storm Windows?

Installing framing strips on indoor storm windows is very simple. Follow these easy steps to get the best results:

1. Gather Your Materials Before starting, make sure you have your framing strips, vinyl sheeting or plastic film, a utility knife, and a tape measure.

2. Measure the Window Use a tape measure to check the height and width of your window. Write down the measurements so you know how long to cut your framing strips.

3. Cut the Framing Strips Use the utility knife to cut the framing strips to the right size. Make sure each strip fits along the edges of your window frame.

4. Clean the Window Frame Wipe down the window frame with a cloth to remove dust and dirt. This will help the self-adhesive strips stick better.

5. Attach the Framing Strips Peel off the backing from the self-adhesive side of the strip. Press the framing strip firmly onto the edge of the window frame. Do this for all four sides of the window.

6. Install the Vinyl Sheeting or Film Cut the vinyl sheeting or plastic film to fit your window. Place the vinyl over the window and press it into the snap-lock channel on the framing strips. The strips will hold the sheeting in place.

7. Trim the Excess Material If there is extra sheeting hanging over the edges, use the utility knife to trim it away.
